Search and rescue
The Estonian Border Guard is responsible for all search and rescue (SAR) activities and operations in Estonian waters. The entire rescue area has been divided into responsibility areas between the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC) in Tallinn and maritime rescue sub-units. Maritime rescue sub-units are located in Kuressaare, Kärdla and Narva-Jõesuu.
